Strontium titanate is currently of great interest due to its many potential uses. Several bulk and surface nanophases have been discovered in recent research including various reconstructions, anatase islands, the bulk Ruddlesden-Popper phases, and various nanostructures which form on the strontium titanate surface. We are also studying the possible effects of high niobium doping on the reconstructions, surface nanophases and bulk nanophases known to form on and within strontium titanate.
